The BSR technique

With an overload of stress the communication normally taking place between the body and the brain is undermined. It is essential to restore this communication in order for healing to take place. BSR aims to do so by locating and releasing body stress.

Through the use of a biofeedback technique where a series of light pressure tests are applied, a neuromuscular response can be observed. The BSR practitioner can detect this subtle reaction by moving the feet of the client in a distinct way. The feedback gathered through the tests gives specific information on location and direction of the locked-in stress in the body, enabling the practitioner to apply gentle but precise impulses to these areas.

This in fact gives a signal to the brain encouraging the release of tension. The pressure on the nerves is thus alleviated, communication is restored and the body can then get on with its natural ability to heal and maintain itself.

Body Stress Release is a complementary health technique. It does not diagnose or treat illnesses or ailments of any sort nor is it a substitute for any treatment of any kind, medical or otherwise. Its only concern is the locating and releasing of locked-in tension in order to encourage the body towards self-healing.

Who is it good for?

Even a newborn baby may experience body stress after a difficult birth.

BSR is for everyone, from infants to the elderly, whether sick or healthy. Since we are all subjected to stresses of all kinds, our quality of life may be improved by addressing body stress.

BSR clients are often people who seek a holistic approach to their health as a method of healing and prevention. Through its positive results BSR has drawn in people who have been told that their condition is inevitable, or stems from their imagination, or that surgery is the only way out.

Others who have tried many alternative therapies, which for one reason or other have not worked for them, turn to BSR for one last attempt to find a solution. Many have finally found relief through this technique.
